Greater Connections are Made by Hand

My grandmother was one of the most well spoken, eloquent women I've ever known. She had an extensive and witty vocabulary, hand wrote beautiful letters and was an engaged participant in conversation. She understood the creativity available in speaking and writing, often lost on the abbreviated interactions of our era.

Interestingly, despite my being an age where computers, internet and cell phones made their grand debuts (and readily adopting their use), I love the slower pace and authenticity of an analog life. Despising digital calendars, I solely rely on the planner at my desk; notes are jot down on post-its, notepads and journals due to a note app aversion.

Greater connections are made by hand…

Hand writing is a mindful activity that activates learning and memory. If we jot down a note, calendar entry, or piece of information we desire to remember, it becomes imprinted through the act of writing and is often unnecessary to refer back to the paper.

This blog is clearly digital, but was first written in a journal; and while I will be sharing via the internet, the aim is for you to sense the authentic place from which these writings flow. Alan Watts stated decades ago, that technology is a great tool, but a poor master; with this in mind, digital tools will be utilized with the intention of connecting with like-hearted souls. I will share honestly and openly from my unique perspective, learnings and lived experience. If these words resonate, I hope they bring new insights, ideas that become actionable, or a sense of being understood.

Feel free to reach out through the website; until next time...
